An Introduction of Nanchang University School of Pharmacy
　　Nanchang University School of Pharmacy (SOP) originated from Jiangxi Medical College Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and it was founded in July 2000 and changed to current name in September 2012. Presently, SOP is composed of  nine Teaching and Research Sections, two provincial key laboratories (Jiangxi Provincial Key Laboratory for Basic Pharmacology and Jiangxi Provincial Key Laboratory for Clinical Pharmacokinetics), two university-level research institutes (Clinical Pharmacology Institute and Drug Research Institute), one Innovative Drug Research and Discovery Center, one pharmaceutical experimental laboratory, and one provincial graduate education and innovation base.
　　SOP has a staff team of 63 people, including 21 professors,12 associate professors, and 15 lecturers. Among them, 27 teachers own doctoral degree, and 13 teachers have experience of abroad education. Recently, two professors including a foreigner as high-level academic leaders have been recruited from the United States and Canada. So far, there are a total of 7 Ph.D and 28 master supervisors in the School with an average age of 40 years.  Several faculty members in the School have been awarded with prestigious titles such as the National Outstanding Scientific and Technological Worker (1 faculty member), Gan Po 555 Project of Excellence (2), Technology Leader of the Major Disciplines of Jiangxi (1), Young University Academic Leaders of Jiangxi (6),  members of the Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Project of Jiangxi (4) and the 215 Talent Project of Nanchang University (8) including four Ganjiang Professors and four Ganjiang Young Scholars .
　　The school offers two undergraduate programs, namely Pharmacy and Clinical Pharmacy and currently, there are 620 full-time undergraduate and 200 graduate students registered in the School.  The courses offered in the School are very popular to students. The Pharmacology lectures given by the professors in the School won the Award of Jiangxi Provincial High Quality Sharing Course, and the Medicinal Plants and Pharmacognosy lectures won the Excellence of Network Class at the Nanchang University.  Furthermore, the School is collaborating in education with Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica and Lushan Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and many others to provide best education resources possible to students.
　　In addition to emphasis on undergraduate education, the School is focusing on graduate education at the same time. The subject of Pharmacy in the School was a provincial key discipline in Jiangxi during the period of the 12th five years (2011-2015) and the subject of Pharmacology was a provincial priority discipline during the period of the 11th five years (2006-2010).  The School has been authorized and certificated to offer master programs in Pharmacy which includes Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacognosy, Natural Medicinal Chemistry, and Clinical Pharmacology.
　　Moreover, the School has great strength in scientific research. During the last five years, the School has attracted a total of more than 30 million Chinese Yuan in research funds for more than 100 projects including nearly 50 national projects (three major projects of National Science and Technology, a 973 project, and 42 Projects supported by the National Natural Science Fund). As a result, 30 invention patents including 3 authorized patents were granted, more than 200 SCI and/or EI papers were published, and a provincial/ministerial prize was awarded to the School.
